Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking an Administrative Specialist I to perform a range of administrative duties in the Local Government division. The role supports timekeeping, document management, and communications with taxpayers and attorneys, ensuring accurate processing of property tax appeals.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with two years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform administrative duties with accuracy and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily administrative activities including calls, filing, and room reservations.
  • Log and respond to property tax commission appeals timely and accurately.
  • Audit Notices of Appeal for completeness and required documents.
  • Contact taxpayers or attorneys when documents are incomplete.
  • Answer technical calls about PTC forms to perfect appeals.
  • Assist HR liaison and timekeeper; ensure accurate time entries.
  • Enter sales ratio data for all counties; track relevant legislation.
