The Louisiana Department of Education’s Division of Diverse Learners works to ensure students with disabilities have access to high-quality instruction, appropriate supports, and meaningful opportunities to achieve strong academic and postsecondary outcomes. The Division supports school systems across Louisiana by connecting effective instructional practices, specialized supports, technical assistance, and strong systems of implementation. We are seeking an Administrative Program Specialist to provide programmatic and operational support within the Division of Diverse Learners. This position plays an important role in advancing the Division’s work by supporting contracts and budgets, managing key administrative processes, coordinating communications and events, and providing direct support to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong communication and follow-through. Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Appointment Type:Probational or Promotional.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

Work Schedule: Workdays are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
