This is an INTERNAL POSTING open ONLY for current employees of the NC Department of Adult Correction and eligible RIF candidates from NC State Government.
This position is located at Pamlico Correctional Institution in Bayboro, NC .
This position is responsible for managing and administering the complete business and personnel functions of the facility to include accounting, procurement, personnel, warehouse, clothes warehouse, mailroom, training, computer support functions, and canteen operations.
This position approves and controls expenditures.
The position monitors, controls, and plans facility budgets, accounting, procurement, inmate welfare activity, personal service contracts, fiscal audit functions, vehicle maintenance, and accountability of fixed assets.
This position has management responsibility for staff training and computer support functions.
Also position plans, organizes, and directs personnel functions to include management of the employment process and merit-based hiring policy, record maintenance, employee benefits, time and leave, payroll, and VIP (Valuing Individual Performance).
This position serves as an ADA Coordinator for the facility.
Provides guidance to supervisors regarding employee relations issues and employee disciplinaries and grievances.
This position is actively involved in providing guidance and preparation of documentation for the Employee Disciplinary Process.
This position represents the facility and the department on Mediation Hearings, Employee Hearings, Employment Security Commission Hearings and various departmental meeting.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving the lives and property of its citizens through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
