ADMINISTRATIVE NURSE MANAGER FOR ADULT ED

The Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager maintains standards of practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.

The Administrative Nurse Manager actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.

The Administrative Nurse Manager participates in performance improvement and research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The role demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served. This position is accountable for managing all clinical administrative functions (patient care delivery, fiscal, material, and human resources) of nursing units within a Care Center on a 24-hour basis.

The position aims to create an environment where autonomy is nurtured, encouraged, and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care. It emphasizes professional interdisciplinary collaboration, communication, and teamwork to enable care delivery that improves health and wellness for customers and the community. The role also involves upholding compliance with Montefiore Medical Center's policies/procedures, service excellence standards, and regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  1. Education: Current Registered Nurse license. BSN required. Master's Degree in Nursing or a health-related field preferred.
  2. Clinical Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience.
  3. Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years of management experience required.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal relationships, effective English communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal), problem-solving ability, motivational and coaching skills, conflict resolution, and creative thinking. A strong commitment to advancing institutional performance measures through interdisciplinary teamwork is essential.
