Job description

The Montefiore Associate Administrative Nurse Manager maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.

The Associate Administrative Nurse Manager actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced score card performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.

The AANM participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The AANM demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a specialized nursing unit(s) in collaboration with the ANM directs and coordinates patient and unit activities in an environment that supports excellence, ensuring the continual delivery of quality patient care, in compliance with MMC policies and standards. Assists the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of select group of patients; participates in educational activities related to the clinical specialty; participates in clinical research studies. Occasionally, participates in direct patient care.

Education Qualifications:

  1. New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
  2. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field required.
  3. Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  4. American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification in Specialty Area desired.
  5. Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.
  6. Effective English communication skills written, oral and interpersonal.

Experience:

  1. Pediatric Critical Care Nursing experience desired.
  2. Clinical experience 2+ years, in related area required.
