Job Summary:

University Housing is a dynamic operation with an emphasis on high standards for administrative processes and excellent customer service. We are looking for someone to help manage customer service operations within the Conference & Events and Desk Services area of University Housing. This position will help to streamline administrative, hiring, and training activities for student and career staff.

Responsibilities:
Manages a program and/or programmatic activities. Initiates, develops, and implements operational services that support a defined project, program, work unit, or function to advance program goals and objectives. May supervise staff and/or approve unit expenditures.
  • 10% Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement
  • 15% Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
  • 15% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • 15% Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications
  • 15% Leads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies
  • 5% May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures
  • 5% Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors
  • 20% Hire, train, and supervise student staff
Tasks:
  • Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service.
  • Provides support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.
  • Serves as a hearing officer and Designated Discipline Representative.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are efficient and consistent
  • Assists with financial audits, billing, and refunds.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent professional experience, in the fields of higher education, hospitality, event management, communications, or a related field.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
- 3 years supervision experience
- At least 3 years of post-bachelor's degree experience in hospitality or higher education

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with residence hall front desk operations
- Experience working within a university housing setting
- Experience work with StarRez, SharePoint and/or When2Work preferred
- Financial experience

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $71,200 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
This is a full-time appointment. The starting annual salary is $71,200 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.

Additional Information:

Primary schedule for this position is 7:45am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Schedule will be determined upon hire. Schedule alterations as operation and position expectations demand.
