Louisiana Public Service Commission in Baton Rouge is seeking a Court Reporter for the Administrative Hearings Division to produce verbatim transcripts of public hearings and meetings using electronic recording systems and For The Record.
You will test equipment, transcribe proceedings, and maintain confidentiality of filed exhibits. Travel may be required; 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday; probationary/promotion appointment with opportunities for career progression.
The Administrative Hearings Division (AHD) of the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC or Commission) is primarily responsible for compiling accurate and complete records of proceedings before the Commission.
The incumbent serves as an LPSC Court Reporter and adheres to professional standards of court reporting by utilizing electronic recording equipment to produce verbatim transcripts of all public hearings and meetings presided over by the five elected LPSC Commissioners, all adjudicatory hearings and oral arguments presided over by the Administrative Law Judges, and technical conferences conducted by the Commission's Office of General Counsel. A strong command of punctuation is very useful in this position.
Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.
