The City of New York Law Department seeks an Administrative Claim Examiner - 1004E to provide administrative direction and broad managerial oversight for the unit's support professional staff, ensuring quality, timeliness, and regulatory compliance. Minimum qualifications include a baccalaureate degree and four years of full‑time experience investigating and settling liability claims, with at least 18 months in a supervisory capacity.
A 55‑a Program option and residency requirements apply.
Provides administrative direction and broad managerial oversight, exercising substantial independence, initiative, and judgment in carrying out unit support professional responsibilities. Establishes goals and objectives for support professional personnel, delegates as appropriate, and remains accountable for the quality, timeliness, compliance, and effectiveness of the support professional personnel unit’s work.
The position is accountable for the overall administration and performance of the assigned unit’s support professional staff.
In addition, Tort prefers five years of experience in the above duties.
