University of Arizona in Tucson is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Spanish & Portuguese Department. This on-site role supports the department head and Senior Business Manager, overseeing front desk, scheduling, events, and communications.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of related experience, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office, Zoom, and Qualtrics. Evening events and campus duties are required.
This position will perform a variety of administrative support, along with events coordinator duties for the Spanish & Portuguese (S&P) Department to ensure efficient daily office operations. A successful candidate will join a vibrant team providing administrative and operational support to the faculty and students of the department. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and work effectively within the team and with central administrative units in the university.
The candidate will be punctual, enthusiastic, collaborative, adaptable, proficient in a variety of computer software programs, and have exceptional writing and communication skills. This position reports to the Senior Business Manager, while providing more targeted support for the Spanish & Portuguese Department Head.
This is an on-site position. Additionally, this position requires walking on campus and physical ability to assist with setup and breakdown and working during events that may occur during evening hours.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
