ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the general supervision of the Director, assist in the overall administration of the program, aid in coordinating educational and recreational activities, assist with supervision of volunteers and responsible for participant registration/ database. Specific duties and responsibilities include:Answer telephones and assist with callsRecruit, supervise, and coordinate activities of volunteer workers, interns, and others who perform essential daily functions at the centerPerform general duties to include, but not limited to, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filingCreate, maintain, and follow up with maintenance ticketsAccept lunch deliveries, assist with meal service, and clean up afterwardsPerforms collecting, recording, and daily records of contributions, fundraising activities, and petty cashSupport the Director weekly in counting DFTA Breakfast, Lunch, Fundraising money, and depositsHelp to coordinate special programs and eventsCoordinate with community agencies to provide legal, public, mental health, social, and other educational/ recreational courses at the centerParticipate in various internal Older Adult Center subcommittees (menu committee/fundraising, etc.)Assist with fliers, newsletters, bulletin boards, etc.Conduct client registration and create new membership ID cardsAssist with fundraising activities, including receipts and spreadsheetsAssist with documentation and input into the program databaseCollect and record daily records for attendance and congregate meals and maintain databaseMaintain monthly recreational logAssist with and maintain all required documentation of the fundraising receipts and expensesCreate Purchase orders for supply needs through our Yardi systemAssist with Information & ReferralPlan and/or lead recreational/educational trips or eventsOther duties as required by the Director and organizationCOMPETENCIESCPR/AED certification preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)Food Handler certification preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older personsComputer skills required, with ability to learn database maintenanceAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to work independentlyCommitment to the organization’s mission, vision, and valuesAbility to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communitiesCommit to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g., people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.)EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree and one year of administrative, customer service, or human services experience, or High School graduate or equivalent, and specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years’ experience in a community, group work, or teacher environment.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (EEO)/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY STATEMENTIt is the policy of RiseBoro to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment.
