Maine Public is seeking two full-time Administrative Assistants to join our Membership team in Portland, Maine. The roles serve as a front desk point of contact and support Membership and Audience Services with email, phones, inquiries, guest reception, data entry, and payments processing.

Qualifications

  • Two years of administrative support or customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with database entry, CRM, or constituent databases preferred.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Front desk receptionist and main point of contact for visitors.
  • Assist with Membership and Audience Services tasks, including responding to emails and phone inquiries.
  • Enter data and maintain constituent databases.
  • Process member payments and acknowledgements.
  • Support events and occasional night/weekend shifts.

Job description

Maine Public is seeking two full-time Administrative Assistants to join our Membership team!

Serving as a front desk point of contact in a busy office, this position assists with day-to-day Membership and Audience Services tasks and as a key point of contact for visitors. Work includes providing administrative coverage and audience support including responding to email, answering phones, fielding general inquiries, welcoming guests, troubleshooting member issues and concerns, providing excellent customer service, performing routine data entry and database maintenance, and processing member payments and acknowledgements. This role works some events and the schedule varies as needed, including occasional shifts on nights and weekends.

It’s an exciting time for Maine Public as we are moving into our new Portland facility! As a statewide nonprofit network for public radio and public television, we are building for the future and creating a new center with modern studios for Maine Public Radio, Maine Public Classical, and much of the network’s news operation. The venue will include space for music performances, speakers, screenings, and partnerships with civic organizations.

Job Requirements:

Two years of administrative support or customer service experience, high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent verbal and written communications skills; proficiency and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; experience with database data entry, CRM, or constituent database systems preferred. Must have a high level of organization and be detail oriented. A valid driver’s license is required.

The starting hourly rate is approx. $22.75 plus a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement, paid time off, dental, vision, and other supplemental benefits.
