Job Description:
The School District of Milton is seeking qualified candidates for an Administrative Assistant (Level 2) position at East Elementary. Primary responsibilities include supporting main office operations, coordinating substitute coverage, performing receptionist duties, supervising students, and providing first aid and student health services. The position also performs other duties as assigned by the East Elementary Principal.
This position is scheduled for eight (8) hours per day (40 hours per week), with a start date of as soon as possible, and daily hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The starting wage is $20.15 per hour, with additional compensation available for candidates with prior experience as an administrative assistant in a public-school setting. A competitive benefits package is also included.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be extremely organized, be able to multi-task various projects and deadlines, and be flexible with frequent interruptions. A strong set of communication skills (written and oral) is required. In addition, candidates should have a strong emphasis on office management, human resources skills, and an understanding of school organizations. Candidates must also have a superior ability to utilize and incorporate various sources of technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs. Experience with the District’s student database Skyward is preferred.
