Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree, 60+ college credits, or passing score on the ParaPro exam required; Bachelor's degree or Vermont Teaching License preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with youth in K-8 educational, recreational, or childcare settings preferred.
• Background Clearance: Fingerprint-based background check required prior to hire.
• Citizenship/residency/work visa: Required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons as provided by classroom teachers across grades PreK–8.
• Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.

The Milton Town School District is seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and energetic full-time Substitute to cover daily teacher absences across our elementary and middle schools.

This position offers full-time hours, a consistent school schedule, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across diverse grade levels (PreK–8). You will play a crucial role in maintaining instructional continuity, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting students throughout their learning day.

Instructional Delivery: Implement lesson plans provided by classroom teachers across various subjects and grade levels with enthusiasm and clarity.

Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment consistent with district expectations and school-wide behavior systems.

Student Support: Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of elementary and middle school students.

Collaboration: Work effectively alongside grade-level teams, education support personnel, and school administration.

Flexibility: Adapt comfortably to changing daily assignments, transitioning smoothly between elementary and middle school settings as needed.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: upto $70,000 Per Year
