Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to support the Development and Utility Coordination Section. The role provides scheduling, Legistar creation, purchasing and HR coordination for the Deputy Director and three Special Projects Administrators.

The ideal candidate will conduct research to improve division operations and assist in implementing policy changes while ensuring compliance with city procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.
  • Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Deputy Director and three Special Projects Administrators in scheduling, Legistar creation, purchasing, hiring and HR coordination.
  • Conduct research and studies related to Division operations and make recommendations for enhancements and efficiencies as well as assist the Deputy Director in the implementation of policy and procedural changes.
  • Assist in implementing policy and procedural changes.
