Position Overview

Under general direction, performs administrative functions for the Real Estate Examinations Section; assisting in the planning, directing and evaluating of section operations as it relates to Real Estate Examinations. Provides instructions to complainants on appropriate courses of action. Receives telephone, written or in-person inquiries and complaints from the general public, consumer groups and industry personnel. Assists in the planning, development and implementation of detailed automated records of complaints. Organizes and develops informational materials. Enters data on personal computer and/or laptop. Assists with special projects. Travels to attend and participate in staff meetings and conferences.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as staff assistant for the Real Estate Examinations Section.
  • Provides instructions to complaints on appropriate courses of action, provides complaint related forms and letters, refers inquiries to appropriate department staff, i.e., superior, Legal staff, Investigations staff.
  • Assists in the planning, development and implementation of detailed automated records of complaints.
  • Organizes and develops informational materials regarding complaints, examination program and the real estate professions for communication and distribution to staff, industry groups and the general public.
  • Enters data on desktop computer and/or laptop concerning the Division of Real Estate professions.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Travels to attend and participate in staff meetings and conferences.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  • Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least two years of customer service and administrative experience.
  • Prefers two years of working with Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office including OneDrive, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Prefers one year of experience working in the field of Real Estate.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires the ability to pass an agency conducted background check.
  • Requires the ability to travel.
