Responsibilities

  • Leads event planning for divisional activities and institutional events.
  • Serves as recorder for Curriculum and Instruction and Space Utilization committees.
  • Assists with catalog and curriculum updates and provides secondary support to the President's Office.
  • May require after hours and weekend work; moves up to 25 lbs; valid driver’s license.

Job description

Performs clerical duties deemed necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the office. Receives telephone calls and visitors, screens and refers to appropriate personnel, and coordinates the daily work of the VPAA by scheduling appointments and setting up meetings. Maintains all office files. Receives and disseminates correspondence and prepares responses to routine inquiries and/or gathers information for responses from internal and external stakeholders. Establishes office-related meeting agendas and keeps minutes for all such meetings, including the Academic Affairs Leadership Team (AALT) and the area commission subcommittee meetings.

Develops and implements administrative procedures and systems necessary to enhance the overall function of the division of academic affairs. Provides direct administrative support for one major functional area: Academic Affairs.

Oversees the activities of the student assistants employed by the office. Assist students with specific problems and advises them on the institution's policies and procedures.

Assembles data and drafts reports. Develops/monitors/updates the college's Substantive Change compliance reports and serves as the repository for all related SACSCOC reports and documents.

Leads the event planning for divisional events and activities, including assisting with institutional events.

Serves as the official recorder for core college committees Curriculum and Instruction (CIC) and Space Utilization. Assists with assessing/ monitoring/updating the college catalog and curriculum display.

Serves as secondary support to the President's Office when needed.

High School diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Valid driver's license required. May require after hours and weekend work. Must be able to move up to 25 lbs.
