Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Human Resources invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant 4. This position serves as confidential assistant to the Human Resources Director and also provides clerical assistance to professional human resources staff. This position relieves the Director of the day-to-day routine administrative operations of the Human Resources Office. The programs currently administered out of the Human Resources Office include: advertising and recruiting, employment, orientation, education and training, benefits administration, performance appraisal, worker's compensation, classification and pay, file maintenance and the human resources information system for unclassified staff, classified staff, intermittent staff, student managers, resident assistants, and graduate assistants. The Human Resources Office is responsible for approximately 2000 employees. The incumbent must be able to perform all of the task statements, which are considered to be Essential Functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be certified through the southeastern Defensive Driving Course.
Three years of experience in administrative services.
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
