Position Title:
To be the nation's most citizen oriented, efficiently administered, state tax agency.
The Montana Department of Revenue administers approximately 40 state taxes, property appraisals, alcohol beverage laws, cannabis laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana. The Property Assessment Division manages Montana’s property assessment and valuation of all taxable property for property tax purposes. PAD is comprised of the Geographic Information System Unit, Program Support Unit, Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal Unit, Industrial Unit, Division Administration team, and approximately 30 local field offices in various counties in Montana.
This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of Department of Revenue . The Administrative Support Specialist provides key administrative and office coordination support to the Property Tax Assessment Division (PAD). This includes managing records, generating reports, and offering specialized support services as directed. The position supports division management and staff while ensuring smooth office operations. The role reports directly to the PAD Division Management Officer and does not involve supervising other employees.

The minimum level needed on the first day of work is
One year of college or vocational training in business administration, office management, or related program, and
Two years of job-related work experience in office management and/or administrative support services with one year of experience working with standard office software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, etc.)
Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
