Job summary

Community Interface Services is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for our North County office to provide phone and email customer service, manage office operations, and support program participants and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma with 1 year of office experience, strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word), and a team-oriented attitude ready to handle multiple platforms and projects in a nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide phone and email customer service to program participants, families, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the upkeep of the North County office space and create a welcoming environment.
  • Navigate multiple online platforms and electronic case management systems alongside Microsoft Office for administrative tasks.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all business activities.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and assist others as needed.

Community Interface Services, a nonprofit that serves people with developmental and intellectual disabilities is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant in our North County office. WHO WE ARE

Community Interface Services is a non-profit organization that has empowered adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1983. Our mission is to provide quality, individualized, community-based support and training in employment, housing, community living, and other related services.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide phone and email customer service to program participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities, their families, and other stakeholders such as businesses or vendors that work with our services. Develop rapport by communicating positively and professionally.
  • Oversee the upkeep of our North County office space, and create a welcoming environment for all who walk through our doors.
  • Learn to navigate multiple online platforms and utilize electronic case management systems alongside Microsoft Office for administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, faxing, filing, and document processing.
  • Work on a variety of special projects as needed.
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with widely recognized ethical standards; ensure confidentiality is not breached regarding financial, accounting, personnel, participant, and all other propriety information; work to reduce the agency's vulnerability to waste, fraud, and abuse; comply with all safe work practices.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, quickly learning a variety of programs and helping others as needed
The ideal candidate will have:
  • High School Diploma (some college preferred) plus one year of experience in a customer service or an office setting
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience using databases preferred.
  • Flexibility, openness and ability to adapt to change.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to process a high volume of numerical transactions accurately and effectively.
  • Dependable and reliable; able to follow through on commitments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A car in safe working order, vehicle insurance, a valid CA driver's license, and at least 2 years of driving experience.

Starting pay range is $23-25 per hour, depending on education and experience, with opportunities for pay increases!
