Job summary

Thrivent Financial is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support a seasoned advisor. The role is 32 hours per week and offers a path to FINRA licensing (SIE/7/66 and WA L&H) within six months.

Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting members, mail handling, and coordinating meetings. The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Office skills, confidentiality, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on member experience and support for client

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy under interruptions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Basic knowledge of Thrivent Financial products/services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls and respond to information requests.
  • Perform routine admin duties such as office supplies and mail.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and projects.
  • Support programs and administrative functions as needed.
  • Schedule meetings for advisors and update contact records.
  • Assist advisor in meeting prep and follow-up with clients.
  • Provide back-up support for non-licensed tasks as needed.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Summary

This position provides administrative support to a seasoned advisor. This role is critical to our member experience and requires a friendly, upbeat demeanor. The incumbent supports the daily operations of the practice, including, but not limited to: answering the phones, meeting/greeting members, handling/distributing postal mail and practice email, ordering supplies, utilizing Thrivent Financial computer systems and programs in support of client relations, and other administrative tasks as assigned. The Administrative Assistant reports to and is employed by the local advisor. This position is 32 hours a week, compensating $38,200 to $43,200 based upon experience. Benefits include: medical benefit stipend, sick pay, PTO, and Holiday pay. Must be willing to become licensed in the first 6 months (FINRA SIE/7/66 and WA L&H) which will be an immediate growth track.

Job Description
Position Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Handles incoming telephone calls and responds to requests for information
  • Performs routine administrative duties such as maintaining office supplies and processing mail
  • Prepares or coordinates the preparation of routine correspondence, reports, and special projects typically of a routine nature
  • Supports projects, administration of various programs, and processing functions as needed
  • Drive client/member facing activity in the practice by scheduling meetings with client/members on behalf of the practice’s Financial Advisors
  • Update the contact management system with client/member contact and preference information
  • Assist Financial Advisor in the preparation and follow up for the client/member meetings
  • Provides back-up support on tasks that do not require any type of licensing or registration for other staff members, as needed
  • Completes other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Position Qualifications
  • Previous administrative/secretarial experience desired
  • Strong technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or ability to learn
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions
  • Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information
  • Basic understanding of our products and services, and Thrivent Financial
