Job summary

Holy Family Parish in Stow, Ohio is seeking a friendly, organized Administrative Assistant to provide essential support for the parish office and to create a welcoming experience for parishioners and visitors. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Pastor and Director of Operations, with a schedule Monday–Friday and rotating Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Comfortable using email, web-based applications, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Appreciation for the mission and values of the Catholic Church.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Pastor, Director of Operations, and parish staff.
  • Welcome parishioners, visitors, vendors, and guests with warmth, professionalism, and hospitality.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Assist with daily parish office operations, including: Sorting and distributing mail; Preparing parish mailings; Copying, scanning, filing, and maintaining documents; Ordering and organizing office supplies.
  • Cross-train in essential parish office functions to provide coverage during staff absences, including: Maintaining the parish calendar; Assisting with weekly collection reconciliation; Balancing petty cash; Supporting offertory counting procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling parish, financial, and personnel information.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Pastor or Director of Operations.

Position Summary

Holy Family Parish is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the parish office while creating a welcoming and hospitable experience for parishioners, visitors, and members of the community. As the first point of contact for many who visit or call the parish, this individual plays an essential role in supporting the daily operations and mission of the parish.

Reports To: Pastor and Director of OperationsSchedule: Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturday office coverageCompensation: Commensurate with experience

Essential Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and operate standard office equipment throughout the workday.
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with moderate conversational noise.
