Job summary

Bethel University is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. The role involves daily clerical tasks, expense tracking, and coordinating student event transportation with external partners.

You will contribute to Bethel’s Christ-centered mission by fostering a well-organized, welcoming environment for faculty and students. The position is in‑person in Arden Hills, MN with a starting wage of $19.50 to $20.50 per hour.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience in a customer service-related role, or a recent internship.
  • 1+ years of related, in-office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative clerical support for assigned academic departments and programs.
  • Establishes proper company record retention guidelines and ensures proper record filings.
  • Receives and obtains approval for expense reports.
  • Approves and tracks various invoices.
  • Partners with the administrative assistant team to ensure consistency in administrative processes; attends monthly meetings; acts as backup for other Administrative Assistants.
  • Executes duties assigned by specific departments and faculty members.

About the role

Join our academic community as an Administrative Assistant supporting the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. This dynamic position is perfect for a highly organized multi‑tasker who loves variety, as you will manage everything from daily clerical duties and expense tracking to coordinating student event transportation with external partners.

This role isn't merely managing schedules and paperwork; you will play a vital part in Bethel’s mission to educate and equip students in a Christ-centered community. As a core member of our staff, you serve as a minister of the gospel by fostering a highly organized, supportive, and welcoming environment where faculty can teach and students can thrive.

This is an in‑person role located in Arden Hills, MN with a starting wage of $19.50 to $20.50 per hour.

What you’ll do
Administrative Duties – 75%
  • Provides administrative clerical support for assigned academic departments and programs.
  • Establishes proper company record retention guidelines and ensures proper record filings.
  • Receives and obtains approval for expense reports.
  • Approves and tracks various invoices.
  • Partner closely with the administrative assistant team to ensure consistency in administrative processes. Attend monthly administrative assistant meetings. Act as backup for other Administrative Assistants.
Department Specific Duties – 25%
  • Executes various duties assigned by specific departments and faculty members.
Qualifications
Required Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required Experience

Experience in a customer service‑related role, or recent internship.

Preferred Experience

1+ years of related, in‑office experience.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university in which all employees are expected to have a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of the University, and an agreement to abide by all University policies.

Expected Hours of Work

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
