About the role

Our Student Life Office Coordinator is at the heart of a team committed to creating a welcoming, supportive, and life-changing experience for Bethel students.

This is a full-time, in-office position located on our campus in Arden Hills, MN. The starting wage is $19.50 - $20.50 per hour.
What you'll do
Provide comprehensive administrative support for the Student Life team – 35%
  • Coordinate daily administrative operations for Student Life leadership, including managing shared email inboxes, calendars, voicemail, office correspondence, room reservations, and office resources.
  • Maintain office supplies and materials for the Student Life Suite, The Underground, and the Cultural Connections Center (CCC).
  • Coordinate staff meetings, appreciation events, student employee activities, and other initiatives that contribute to a positive and collaborative office culture.
  • Staff the front desk.
Manage office operational processes - 20%
  • Maintains and organizes the common spaces, such as the office waiting room, meeting room, work area, kitchen, and storage space.
  • Manage key Student Life administrative processes, including departmental webpages, co-curricular transcripts, on-call schedules, study abroad approvals, and Student Handbook updates.
  • Complete monthly business expense reconciliations for Student Life leaders and provide budget tracking, reporting, and administrative support to the Associate Vice President as needed.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve office workflows and administrative efficiency.
Lead and develop the Student Life student team - 15%
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and coach student employees who staff the Student Life front desk.
  • Foster an engaging and supportive work environment while ensuring consistent customer service, accurate timekeeping, and dependable office coverage.
  • Oversees front desk initiatives, including front desk services, themed student events, and student worker appreciation.
Support Campus Ministries administrative operations – 15%
  • Provide administrative support to the Campus Ministries team by managing shared inboxes and voicemail, coordinating room reservations, maintaining office supplies and materials, and assisting with departmental operations that support ministry programming and student engagement.
  • Process payment requests, vendor payments, student timecard support, expense reconciliations, and coordinate accounts receivable documentation with the Business Office and University Advancement.
Provide administrative support for Residence Life - 15%
  • Assist with Residence Life operations, including housing assignments, meal plan changes, housing exemptions, key management processes, and monitoring shared departmental inboxes to ensure timely responses and accurate documentation.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure & Experience
  • High school diploma - required
  • 1 year of office support or administrative assistant experience - required
  • 3 years of office experience with a high level of responsibility - preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to welcome people warmly, show genuine interest and hospitality toward students and others, and interact in a professional manner with all students, faculty, staff, and the public, providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, coordinate, and complete multiple tasks and projects timely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization, focus, and professionalism amid frequent interruptions and competing demands.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to learn website publishing/editing.
  • Must have the ability to handle emergency/crisis calls and situations quickly, confidentially, and calmly using office guidelines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with an understanding of how to present departmental philosophy and procedures.
  • Ability to hire, train, and schedule student employees, while managing and approving their timecards.

Expected Hours of Work

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management.
