Job summary

The Walton County Environmental Health Office is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable clerical support professional to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of Environmental Health operations.

This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while working alongside an Environmental Health Clerk to support office workflow and assist Environmental Health Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Environmental Health records and files
  • Purchase office and program supplies
  • Assist with client management, including gathering appropriate information
  • Receive payments, prepare invoices, and collect funds according to procedures
  • Provide general clerical support to Environmental Health Specialists
  • Answer and route telephone calls appropriately
  • Greet clients and direct visitors as needed
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.

The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
