The Administrative Assistant III, under the functional title as Team Lead Auditor of Health Information Management (HIM), works in the Medical Records Department under the direct supervision of the Directors of Health Information Management with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Primary function is to perform moderately complex and technical clerical tasks in the HIM Department. Serves as the Lead Auditor and conducts audits of discharge charge charts for deficiencies and completeness. Maintain monthly draft reports and conduct concurrent audit reviews with another auditor. Serves as back-up to the HIM Directors, Auditors and Correspondence clerk. Serve as back up for Crystal Report/Business objects. Assists with implementation, methods and systems used in the HIM Department in order to ensure that medical records and patient data systems are accurate, timely and complete. Work habits and products support survey readiness, performance improvement and general hospital regulatory activities. Supports the mission and vision of the facility. Must understand that the duties, location of work and shift pattern are subject to change as determined by administration in order to meet department and hospital needs. Must understand that the duties may include exposure to blood or other potential infectious materials. Employee actively participates and/or serves in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
Performs other duties as assigned in order to ensure services are provided. Willingly completes other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, actively participating and or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
