Job Summary
- coordination of daily office activities
- communicatingoffice policies, procedures and practices to the universitycommunity
- monitoring and maintaining various fiscal records
- computerized data management
- use of electronic mail
- schedulingappointments
- maintenance of tutoring appointment records
- coordinating student satisfaction survey (completed by students)
- compiling information for research
- and coordinating variousspecial projects as assigned.
- The incumbent also assists theDirector in coordinating academic accommodations for students withdisabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of specific commercial courses related to generaloffice, secretarial, and administrative skills or demonstratedequivalency through work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative environmentincluding office oversight responsibilities, and experience withfiscal record keeping. At least one year of experience working withpersons with disabilities, particularly in an educational setting,strongly preferred.
- Personal computer proficiency for word processing, spreadsheet,desktop publishing, database and other related computerapplications, preferably in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills,with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population ofstudents, faculty, staff and administrators.
- Organizational skills to effectively plan work activities,schedules, priorities, and utilization of resources.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students’ informationstrictly in accordance with the Family Educational Rights andPrivacy Act ( FERPA ) regulations.
- Willing and able to work occasional non-standard hours asrequired, including evenings and weekends.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizingthe background check and produce a Social Security Card.
