Job summary

Del Mar College in Texas is seeking qualified professionals to join the Adjunct – Surgical Technology pool. The pool supports part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis across multiple locations and online formats.

Responsibilities include supervising students, advising during clinical hours, grading papers, and adapting teaching methods to diverse backgrounds; candidates must hold an Associate degree in Surgical Technology, CST certification, and have three years of experience.

Qualifications

• Three years experience as a practicing Surgical Technologist.
• Residence in Texas and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Experience teaching at the secondary or college level (preferred).

Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT – SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY :

Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.

Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Surgical Technology.

Three years experience as a practicing Surgical Technologist.

Current CST certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.
