Job summary

Del Mar College Testing Center is seeking an adjunct instructor for Spanish courses. The instructor will be responsible for teaching courses at various times and locations, including online and dual-credit classes. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Spanish and demonstrate a commitment to fostering quality instructional practices.

Qualifications

Job Summary

ADJUNCT – SPANISH: The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses at assigned times and locations, including online or dual‑credit/early college classes.
• Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outlines to ensure course content and objectives are met.
• Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
• Assist students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting course outcomes.
• Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
• Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish.
• Experience teaching at the secondary or college level (preferred).
• Experience teaching college‑level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system such as Blackboard or Canvas (preferred).
• Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
