Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher, or equivalent foreign degree, in a discipline reasonably related to the faculty member's assignment and a bachelor's degree in a discipline reasonably related to the assignment.
• Current registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure in California (or eligibility for California licensure).
• Resident of California at time of employment.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to equity-minded practice for diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned lecture and laboratory courses within the Respiratory Care curriculum.
• Assist in curriculum revisions and new course development and program planning.
• Develop and select course materials, equipment, and technology to enhance respiratory care offerings.
• Participate in assessing student learning outcomes and program review.
• Engage in professional development to maintain expertise in teaching and discipline pedagogy.
• Support instruction and student success as part of the community of practice and beyond classroom hours.
• Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
• Perform other duties as required by contract and district needs.
