Job summary

South College is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the Respiratory Therapy Program. The adjunct will teach didactic and laboratory courses, participate in curriculum review with the Program Director, and support student assessment and critical thinking skills.

The position is contract-based, based on quarterly program needs, and involves assisting in labs and clinical experiences while maintaining current teaching methodologies and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Four years of RRT experience with at least two years in clinical respiratory therapy.
• Two years of teaching experience in a CoARC accredited program or as clinical instructor/preceptor.
• Current and in good standing state license.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professionalism and quality customer service.
• Coordinate and evaluate students during lab courses.
• Assist Program Director with fiscal planning and equipment purchases.
• Attend advisory committee meetings and teach courses as needed.
• Provide academic advising and career counseling; stay current with healthcare trends.
