A leading educational institution in South Carolina is seeking a Welding Technology faculty member. The role involves teaching welding techniques, preparing instructional materials, and maintaining student records. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in welding and teaching, with relevant degrees and practical experience.
Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for course instruction and testing. Keeps student records and adheres to course schedules. Uses learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty, and staff. Participates in the collection of student learning outcomes. Assists the Welding Technology program coordinator with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction. Conducts lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities. Relates instruction and material to course objectives. Provides students with course syllabi and correlates grade assignment with skill and course competency. Submits grades, reports, and records in a timely manner. Remains current in the field.
Must have a broad knowledge of the Welding industry with specific knowledge in the area(s) of teaching welding and welding techniques. The faculty member needs to have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Welding Technology or a related field and three to five years of direct practical experience working independently in areas such as GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW welding, Welding Stainless Steel, Welding Aluminum, and Welding Fabrication.
