Description

Stephens College invites applications for part-time (adjunct) instructors for clinical opportunities in various nursing rotations, including:

• Maternity
• Pediatrics
• Mental Health
• Medical-surgical

Rotations are scheduled as follows:

• Maternity and Pediatric: direct supervision on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 hours per day over 4 weeks.
• Mental Health/Psychiatric nursing: three days per week over two weeks.

The instructor will be responsible for student patient assignments, supervision, and additional course duties such as orientation, grading, meetings, and assessments.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching the acute care portion of the course in clinical settings in coordination with the Course Leader, utilizing existing course materials and LMS.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Current, active RN license or privilege to practice in Missouri without disciplinary action.
2. B.S. in Nursing and enrollment in a graduate nursing program.
3. Two to three years of clinical experience.
4. Completion of the AHA Clinical Faculty Academy or prior nursing education experience. More information here.
5. Desire to teach clinical nursing.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with the education team.
8. Ability to represent the values of the program and college.

Highly desired qualifications:

1. M.S. in Nursing from an accredited institution.
2. Experience teaching at the collegiate or university level.
