Job summary

Midlands Technical College in South Carolina is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Entry Level Plumbing certificate courses. The role involves lectures, discussions, and lab activities, aligning instruction with course objectives and maintaining high teaching standards.

Located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus, the position requires 3–5 years of residential plumbing experience, 1 year of supervisory/training experience, and relevant SC licenses.

Qualifications

  • Must have a broad knowledge of the Plumbing industry and teach courses in the Entry Level Plumbing certificate.
  • Demonstrates command of both Plumbing theory and practice; genuine interest in helping students.
  • Prior experience in education.
  • A Plumbing Certification through the Municipal Association of South Carolina; or a South Carolina Mechanical Contractors License; a South Carolina Residential Builders Commission's Specialty Contractors License in Plumbing is highly desirable.

  • Assists Program Director with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction.

Job description

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus

At least three to five (3-5) years of Residential Plumbing experience, one (1) year of supervisory or training experience; demonstrates command of both Plumbing theory and practice; genuine interest in helping students.

Prior experience in education. A Plumbing Certification through the Municipal Association of South Carolina; or a South Carolina Mechanical Contractors License; a South Carolina Residential Builders Commission's Specialty Contractors License in Plumbing is highly desirable.

Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
