The role serves as a dual credit instructor for SBSUM and an adjunct professor for HCU, reporting to the Dean of Campus across multiple campuses.

The candidate will plan, organize, and implement instructional programs, fostering critical thinking and academic excellence in high school students while aligning college and high school

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Previous dual credit instruction experience preferred.
• Strong Christian testimony and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with SBSUM and HCU standards.
• Communicate with parents and administration to promote educational excellence.
• Manage classroom behavior with biblical discipline standards per SBSUM policies.
• Update records accurately and completely.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
• Establish clear objectives for learning activities.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments in a timely manner.
• Attend required meetings and professional activities; comply with SBSUM and HCU policies.
• Supervise co-curricular activities and school events as assigned.

Second Baptist School University-Model® (SBSUM) is actively seeking (in an ongoing manner)PART-TIME HISTORY FACULTYto teach in the dual credit program we offer in partnership with Houston Christian University (HCU). This position will serve both as a dual credit instructor for SBSUM and an adjunct professor for HCU.

• Work Calendar:August – May
• Possible openings at the following locations:1463 (Fulshear) Campus
  • Cypress Campus

JOB SUMMARY.

A Second Baptist School University-Model® faculty member must be able to plan, organize and implement an appropriate classroom instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Our dual credit faculty deliver college-level instruction to high school students, fostering academic excellence which emphasizes critical thinking, eloquent communication, and a love of learning. This part-time role includes developing course materials, teaching in alignment with both high school and college standards, assessing student progress, and collaborating with school staff to support student success.

TEACHER SUMMARY.

• Prepare and/or deliver lesson plans and instructional materials in accordance with SBSUM and HCU standards.
• Communicate clearly to, and work closely with, parents and school administration to promote educational excellence.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain biblical discipline standards in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of SBSUM.
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development to provide appropriate feedback.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests and assignments in a timely manner.
• Obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Comply with all SBSUM, Second Baptist School and Second Baptist Church policies and procedures.
• Attend all required meetings/training: parent conferences, faculty meetings, devotions, school functions and training, as well as other scheduled events.
• Supervise co-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.

University-Model, classical school, college-level teaching experience, and prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are considered a plus.
