Job summary

Tri County Tech is seeking an Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor to help prepare adult students for careers as practical nurses and other healthcare professions. The instructor supplies student enrichment in Nursing by incorporating real-world experiences that carry over into the broad areas of the medical field.

Qualifications

  • Unencumbered RN license in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of two years of related nursing work experience in the last five years.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Familiarity with current nursing practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and training/education of others.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and handle additional duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned to curriculum goals.
  • Translate plans into engaging learning experiences within available time.
  • Establish and maintain classroom behavior standards for a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluate student progress and maintain records/reports.
  • Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to support health, attitude and learning.

What You'll Possess

As a qualified candidate:

  • You'll possess a Registered Nurse (non-encumbered) license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • You'll possess a minimum of two years of related work experience within the last five years.
  • You'll be CPR certified.
  • You'll have familiarity with current nursing practices and procedures.
  • You'll have familiarity with pedagogy and the training and development of others.
  • You are detail-oriented and organized.
  • You'll strive to exceed expectations and have excellent communication skills.
  • You'll take the initiative, seek out projects, and openly accept other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

Instructors plan and deliver high-level, rigorous instruction to students in a trade area. They are technical experts in a given field/ area of specialty with the ability to teach leadership and employability skills. They understand the concept of andragogy and pedagogy and the learner's motivation while displaying patience and enthusiasm to help their students meet their goals. Instructors are lifelong learners who can adapt easily to meet the needs of their students. They manage multiple projects with self-directed deadline-driven accountability. They are high-functioning professionals, applying the use of discretion and independent judgment while maintaining ultimate accountability.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the district's curriculum goals as well as the individual needs of each student.
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences that effectively utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare reports relating to students' progress.
  • Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor: The omission of duties does not exclude it from the position if similar, related, or a logical assignment to the job. In other words, you'll be helping out on spontaneous projects and opportunities not listed above.
Terms of Employment: Adjunct

M-F, approximately 5-15 hours per week.

Evaluation: Performance evaluated by the Instructional Director per Board policy.

Salary: $30.00 per hour
