Job summary

New River Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Pharmacy Technician Instructor in the Workforce Development unit. The candidate will plan and organize all classes, maintain records, and coordinate hands-on experiences in the classroom and practicum placements in Pulaski, VA.

The successful candidate must be a pharmacist with a current unrestricted license or a pharmacy technician with at least one year of technician experience who holds a current unrestricted Virginia

Full Time or Part Time: Part Time

New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body.

Duties
  • Plan and organize all classes taught.

Minimum Qualifications

New River Community College has an opening for a Pharmacy Technician Program instructor. Qualified candidates with a commitment to serving a diverse student population, including adult learners and at‑risk students, are invited to apply.

The successful candidate must be a pharmacist with a current unrestricted license or a pharmacy technician with at least one‑year experience performing technician tasks who holds a current unrestricted registration in Virginia or a current PTCB certification.

The position falls within NRCC’s Workforce Development unit which offers short‑term, credential training programs.
