Job summary

Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City invites applications for an adjunct history instructor to teach undergraduate courses in either premodern history or modern world history. The appointment is part time. Duties include developing syllabi, delivering lectures and discussions, assessing student learning, maintaining attendance and grades, and offering virtual office hours to support students.

A Master’s degree is required, with Ph.D. preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (required) or Ph.D. (preferred) in History or a closely related discipline.
• Content expertise in premodern history, modern world history, or both.
• Prior teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more sections of premodern history (e.g., ancient, medieval, or early modern) or modern world history courses per term
