Job Description

Basic Function:

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures and laboratories for Nutritional Science/Dietetics courses up to 6–10 hours per week.
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
• Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.

Required Duties:

• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration.
• Or Bachelor’s in any of the above.
• And Master’s in chemistry, public health, or family and consumer studies/home economics.
• NOTE: A bachelor’s in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration, and certification as a registered dietitian, is an alternative qualification for this discipline.
