Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana seeks adjunct faculty for the ASN and PN nursing programs to support student success in Indiana classrooms. You will deliver instruction per course objectives, adapt lesson plans, maintain accurate records, and engage with students to foster a respectful, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include applying college policies, using appropriate technology, and contributing to a safe educational setting while upholding FERPA and regulatory

Qualifications

• Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN) and Practical Nursing (PN) Program Faculty Standard.
• A full- or part-time faculty member in the ASN or PN program must meet all of the following criteria:
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license.
• The majority of faculty shall hold master's degrees in nursing.
• Faculty with bachelor's degrees in nursing must meet ALL of the following requirements:
• Within one semester of initial appointment, must have a written academic plan of study for completion of a master's degree in nursing.
• Provides ongoing documentation (each semester) demonstrating matriculation towards completion of a master's degree in nursing.
• Continued employment of a person who does not hold a master's degree in nursing shall be contingent upon documented progress towards their approved academic plan.
• Must demonstrate ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
• Candidates will be asked to submit official transcripts and submit to a background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
• Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
