Job summary

North Shore Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach in the Medical Assisting Certificate Program for the Fall 2026 semester, with courses running in a hybrid format. The position requires teaching MAC core courses (138, 142, 148, 150) in the Lynn campus, Tuesday evenings, and starting Fall 2026.

The minimum salary is $1,512 per credit hour, commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. A CORI/SORI or nationwide background check is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in medical assisting or related field with graduate-level credit in the subject area.
• Evidence of commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body
• Knowledge of current Medical Assisting practices.
• Evidence of successful prior Medical Assisting teaching in higher education.
• Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach MAC courses in lecture and lab as assigned by the Division Dean.
• Develop each course in a hybrid modality (attend training provided by Center for Teaching Learning and Innovation).
• Prepare course syllabi, proctor and grade course assessments for both lecture and laboratory as scheduled, report final student grades, and complete student alerts by the specified dates each semester.
• Develop and apply assessment strategies that maximize the learning process and measure student learning outcomes.
• Embrace diversity and inclusiveness and support equal rights of all people by advancing understanding of differences.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
