Job summary

Benedictine University in Lisle, IL seeks an Adjunct Lecturer for the MS Health Informatics program in Nutrition & Public Health. Courses are taught online and onsite at Benedictine campuses in Lisle and Mesa, with travel to Lisle or Mesa for weekend sessions as needed.

Qualified candidates hold a graduate degree (terminal degree preferred) and experience with health databases, EHRs, and SAS, R, Python. Teaching online experience is preferred; positions are per-course, part-time, and non-benefit

Rate

$1400 per contact hour (with a terminal degree) and $1200 per contact hour (without a terminal degree). This compensation is per contact hour and is subject to change based on class size.

Brief overview of duties

Adjunct Lecturers, MS Health Informatics ProgramBenedictine University is a liberal arts institution located in metropolitan Chicago with nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate programs in the basic and applied sciences.The University offers an MS in Health Informatics degree within the Department of Nutrition and Public Health, College of Science and Health. Classes are delivered online and onsite at the two Benedictine campuses in Lisle, Illinois and in Mesa, Arizona. Adjunct faculty teach on a per-course basis to develop and teach courses focused on the Public Health aspects of the Health Informatics degree.Candidates will be required to travel to Lisle or to Mesa for one three-day (Friday to Sunday), executive format session for each course taught.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree and significant experience in a related area from accreditedinstitution is required Terminal degree (PhD), is preferred.
• For currently available classes listed above, coursework or experience inworking with health related databases, electronic health records systems, andhealth systems in a QI, research, or Public Health capacity is required.
• Specific experience working with SAS, R, Python, and common HER systems isdesired.
• Experience working in a health-related field is required.
• Applicants with experience teaching online or using online platforms will begiven preference.
• Candidates must be willing to travel when needed for weekend sessions.

Physical Requirements

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talkor hear. This position requires the ability tooccasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone andcustomer service.
