Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington seeks qualified non-credit course instructors to develop and deliver trainings across IT, Office productivity, leadership, and project management. Instructors will use materials and documentation to substantiate teaching and provide engaging sessions.

Compensation is an hourly contracted rate of $40-75, paid per class, with sessions offered morning, afternoon, or evenings, online or onsite, to fit client demand and employer needs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to teach assigned non-credit course effectively.
  • Knowledge of the subject area demonstrated through education and/or professional experience.
  • Prior teaching and facilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver non-credit classes as assigned.
  • Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
  • Assist in scheduling, pricing, and planning with program managers.
  • Teach and train classes at workplace or campus locations.
  • Maintain records on attendance, grades, and curriculum materials.

Job description

Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington is looking for non-credit course instructors with proficiency in a subject area as demonstrated by a completed higher education program, certifications, and/or equivalent professional or volunteer experience reflected in a professional resume.The Ivy+ Career Link team provides quality customized and open enrollment training opportunities for clients and community members in our campus service that are seeking to learn more about specialized areas. Qualified instructors are needed to develop and deliver various contract and open enrollment trainings.Compensation:• The contracted hourly rate is $40-75, commensurate with experience.• Paid via class contract per class basis, including additional preparation and development hours calculated based on class duration and needs.• Classes may be proposed for scheduling throughout the year based on instructor interest and employer/industry demand.Ivy+ Career Link is a team that provides transformative career development services for Ivy Tech students and alumni, as well as a variety of talent connection opportunities and employee training for employers. The Career Link team offers skills training classes open to anyone seeking to upskill with industry certifications and other career enhancements to quickly advance or pivot into the workforce. Class offerings support the growth of key Indiana economic sectors and community needs.Classes are conducted either in a continuing education classroom environment, live online, or at the client site in the morning, afternoon or evening sessions during weekdays or weekends.A variety of topics or areas will be offered so the audience can draw from personal and professional enrichment. Instructors are expected to provide quality teaching materials including documentation to substantiate teaching. Subject areas include, but are not limited to:IT – CompTIA certifications, Website Development, Power BI, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Etc.Leadership Development – soft skills, communication, teamwork, professionalism in the workplace, etc.SHRM certificationProject Management, PMP certificationCPR & Basic First AidCCMA certificationDuties and Responsibilities:Deliver non-credit classes as assigned.Providing a learning environment that supports student success.Collaborate and cooperate with the Ivy+ Career Link Employer Consultants and Program Manager to confirm dates and times, content, pricing, and planning for courses.Teach and train classes as assigned in workplace and campus locations within programming designed to meet specific company learning objectives.Teaching load is dictated by project, or projects, not credit hour production.Work a flexible schedule as dictated by the client company training demand.Maintain records on student attendance, grades, and other information.Develop materials as necessary for the effective delivery of curriculum.Initiate and follow through on evaluation processes that determine the viability of each and every training program delivered.Assist in the identification of facility and equipment needs in the classroom.Participate in training and professional development as needed.Notify the Ivy+ Career Link Program Manager and Employer Consultants in the event of an absence from class, and work to find a substitute or to reschedule as necessary.Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
