Job summary

Utah Valley University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in the Department of Student Leadership and Success Studies at the Main Campus in Orem. Positions are open-ended adjunct/overload with semester appointments and are contingent on background checks. Applicants may be considered as needed; responses may vary by department needs.

Responsibilities include delivering approved curricula, preparing materials, guiding students in classrooms and labs, and providing timely feedback and assessment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and one year of teaching closely related professional experience.
• Select SLSS courses require special trainings or certifications for faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in field of study; plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught.
• Prepares instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, mock-ups, visual aids, and instruction sheets) as necessary.
• Instructs, manages, and supervises individual students and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and shops through using appropriate teaching methods.
• Evaluates instruction and learning by means of appropriate assessment methods.
• Responds to student inquiries and otherwise communicates in a timely manner (e.g. no less than 48 hours)
• Maintains a student-oriented approach to education.
