Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Psychology) in the Arts and Sciences Department. This part-time position teaches General Education Psychology and supports advising, grading, and student recruitment at ATC’s main campus south of downtown Atlanta.

The candidate should hold a Master’s in Psychology or related field with relevant graduate hours, and have teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology or related field with 18 graduate hours in psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
• One year of teaching experience; experience with psychology and general education areas.
• Experience with Banner and LMS preferred.
• May be required to teach at other locations within the community.

Job Description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Psychology) position in the Arts and Sciences Department of the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, and the Department Program Chair, the Adjunct Instructor (Psychology) provides instruction to students in General Education Psychology courses. This is a part- time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
• Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the Psychology field.
• Follows approved course syllabus.
• Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
• Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
• Attends meetings as required and appropriate.
• Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
• Assists with student recruitment, job placement and serves on committees, Maintains qualifications for employment in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
• Maintains qualification for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy manual.
• Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and Performs additional duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess and demonstrate the following:
• Master’s degree in Psychology or at least a Master’s degree in a related field and eighteen (18) graduated hours in the aforementioned discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
• One year of teaching experience; work experience must include the competencies, skills, and knowledge levels required for Psychology and general education areas.
• Experience as an instructor/ teacher in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
• Experience with BANNER and LMS preferred.
