Job summary

COLLEGE OF MAINLAND Adjunct Instructor - Print Reading/Drafting in Texas City is seeking an experienced part-time instructor to teach Print Reading and Drafting concepts to ensure alignment with approved syllabi.

You will maintain accurate student accounting records, provide guidance, and support students in lab and lecture sessions, bringing industry knowledge in drafting, AutoCAD, and GD&T to the classroom while fostering a diverse learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED with sufficient education/experience to perform duties.
  • Drafting knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D design is a plus.
  • Understanding of blueprints, GD&T symbols, and machine drawings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes in accordance with approved syllabi, outlines, and materials through lectures and labs.
  • Maintain accurate student accounting records in compliance with COM procedures.
  • Provide counseling and guidance to students when needed.

-High School Diploma or GED . Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. 5 years’ experience in the industrial or technical field. Including but not limited to: Print Reading but further experience in Drafting, AutoCAD, and 3D Design a plus.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience

-Minimum of a Drafting or AutoCAD license, certificate or degree.

-Knowledge of blueprints with emphasis on machine drawings.
-Knowledge of blueprints with emphasis on symbols.
-Knowledge of identifying the elements of machine drawings.
-Interpretation of dimensions, tolerances and geometric aspects of blueprints.
-Knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) symbols and meanings.
-Knowledge of CAD drawings a plus.
