Education: Certificate in a related technical discipline (e.g., maritime structural fitting, welding, or shipbuilding fabrication), or 1 year at Associate degree (completed at least 1 year toward an Associate Degree in Marine Engineering or Welding Technology) or the equivalent combination of education (HS/ GED ), technical certifications or trainings ( NCCER Maritime Structural Fitter, AWS welding codes, marine welding standards).
Experience:1-3 years of directly related experience as Class 1 shipfitter, maritime fabricator or shipbuilding fabrication technologies, or 3+ years experience in shipfitting, structural fitting, or related maritime trades.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Associates of Arts/Associates of Science in related technical discipline.
NCCER Level 2 certification in maritime structural fitter
