Job summary

MCPHS University in Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member for the Health Information Management & Technology program to develop and deliver high quality learning experiences for undergraduate students. The candidate will teach courses in person, online, or blended, and prepare syllabi, assessments, and activities.

Responsibilities include advising students, posting materials in the LMS, and ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Health Information Management or closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare coding experience using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops a course outline, instructional materials, and assessments for assigned courses.
• Delivers didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction in the HIM program.
• Provides students with an approved syllabus including outcomes, methods, timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Uses the University LMS to post syllabus, assignments and to communicate with students.
• Advises and assists students through office hours, videoconference, phone or email.
• Ensures course content aligns with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
