Qualifications

• Experience teaching college-level courses.
• Experience teaching online courses and/or alternative instructional formats.
• Experience using a Learning Management System, preferably D2L Brightspace.
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II).
• Coding certifications such as CPC, CCA, or CCS-P.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in Health Information Technology content areas (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II).
• Follow protocols for presence, responsiveness, grading, attendance and assessment of student learning.
• Use effective classroom management in the Learning Management System (D2L Brightspace).
• Monitor and improve instruction to meet Student Learning Outcomes at classroom and College levels.
• Evaluate student performance and provide equitable instruction for diverse adult learners.
• Maintain currency in the teaching field and adapt delivery modalities as needed.
