Qualifications

  • MBA or related Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Business Administration.
  • Ability to teach in person, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Experience with LMS (Blackboard Ultra or Canvas) and AI-enhanced teaching tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction in assigned General Business Administration courses.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each class session and instructional hour.
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and student performance records.
  • Grade assignments and provide timely feedback.
  • Counsel and advise students on performance and progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Job description

The Adjunct Instructor, General Business Administration, is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in assigned business courses on a part-time, temporary basis. The instructor facilitates student learning through effective teaching practices, curriculum delivery, assessment of student performance, and engagement in activities that support student success.

Instruction and Student Success
  • Deliver effective, engaging instruction using appropriate teaching methods and technologies.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each class session and instructional hour.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Grade assignments, assessments, and examinations and provide timely feedback.
  • Counsel and advise students regarding course performance, progress, and academic success

Course Development and Assessment
  • Develop and maintain instructional materials that support course outcomes and College standards.
  • Design course schedules, learning activities, and assessments aligned with approved curriculum.
  • Utilize assessment data and best practices to improve teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure course content remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry trends and employer needs.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain program quality and instructional consistency.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Meet all instructional, administrative, and reporting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with department faculty and administrators to support program quality and continuous improvement.
  • Remain current in business practices, instructional technologies, AI-enhanced teaching tools, and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Participate in professional development activities and departmental meetings as appropriate.

Adjunct faculty are assigned courses based on departmental needs, qualifications, enrollment, and scheduling requirements. Courses may be offered during daytime, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid formats.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • OR
  • Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Business Administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year or more of teaching experience in Business Administration or a related field at the college, university, or workforce-training level.
  • Experience teaching in face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid learning environments.
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Blackboard Ultra and/or Canvas.
  • Experience integrating instructional technology, business software applications, and AI tools into teaching and learning.
  • Professional business experience in areas such as management, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, operations, supply chain management, human resources, or related disciplines.
