Job summary

Iowa Western Community College is seeking an instructor to teach a multi-level ESL class for students in IWCC's secondary programs. The instructor will work under limited supervision to deliver comprehensive ESL instruction including listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities include facilitating student orientation, implementing state-mandated programs and policies, and actively participating in the Adult Education team meetings with timely feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with good driving record.

Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
